This tour includes the El Yunque National Forest Park Pass into the 191 corridor, past the Forest Service’s Check Point in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
See the 85 foot La Coca Falls, climb the 70 foot tall Yokahu Tower – at 1, 500 feet in elevation. Later, walk a trail lined with mountain palms and tree ferns. Then, finish with the opportunity of submerging yourself in the Mameyes river.
Itinerary
Pick-ups are offered for you at your hotel or short term rental within the tourism section of San Juan.
This half day tour begins pick-ups as early as 7:45 AM if you are in the Old San Juan area, around 8:00 AM for those of you in the Condado area, and at 8:15 AM for those of you in the Isla Verde area. We look to head to El Yunque before 8:30 AM and return at around 12:30 PM
Approximate Timings:
50 minute drive to El Yunque National Forest
20 minutes at La Coca Falls
20 minutes at Yokahu Tower
15 minutes at Baño Grande
20 minutes at Caimitillo Trail
25 minutes at Mameyes River 50 minute drive back to San Juan Metro Area
Although the above amount is equals to 3 hours 20 minutes, the remaining 40 minutes are spent between driving up and back down from the each stop.
Also, during high season, a cue forms at the forest entrance, so the best experience is gaining early access; therefore our departure time is important.
